View from Barn Park

The view from Robert’s late mother’s home at Barn Park and Hawk’s Tor on the skyline dominates the view. The nearby hill fort at Allabury probably dates back to the 4th century BC. EC Axford described it as an earthwork erected by iron age Celts and a substantial rampart is mostly intact and the Romans probably made use of it’s strategic position between Hawk’s Tor and the valley of the Withybrook below.
