THE COOMBE or COUMBE FAMILY

The Coombe or Coumbe family have been the subject of extensive study by David Coombe. His family from North Hill have lived in Australia since the mid 1800s. You can read more on his website by clicking here.

Isaac Coumbe and Henry Pearse Coumbes were brothers and were born in North Hill. Both brothers were transported to Australia in March and May 1844 for separate crimes. You can read more about their lives by clicking here.

The Ring o’ Bells in North Hill village was the area’s primary public house for many years. For much of that time the Coumbe family were the landlords. You can read more about it here.
